Wish for WASH x Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta 2020 Virtual STEM Expo

Wish for WASH (W4W) is an organization dedicated to educating and innovating in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector. The W4W 2020 Design Thinking and Community Outreach team, comprised of 10 W4W members, hosted a Design Jam for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s first ever Virtual STEM Expo. The Girls Scouts of Greater Atlanta (affiliated with the Girl Scouts of USA) is an organization that focuses on helping young girls build leadership skills, and this STEM Expo was particularly focused on building the next generation of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). W4W piloted an in-person workshop with an Atlanta-based troop in February 2020, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus of this second Design Jam for the STEM Expo the topic of water-saving technologies. Specifically, the ‘how might we’ (HMW) design thinking question was ‘HMW reduce water consumption in our bathrooms’?
